January 2026

We were sick for part of Christmas break, but it was time to get back to regular life. We went out to eat and I really enjoyed this fun map of Texas. Grayson recieved an award for earning the most good behavior points! He missed two days of class and missed the award and donut party! Darn germs! Grayson's getting bigger and stronger it's crazy to watch how quickly he grows from one season to the next. He got ALL the groceries in ONE trip.

I help our PTA with donuts with dads. These balloons and poster were super cute!

We used to have monthly family dinners with Tylan and his family. He had a pilot training in at DFW and came by for dinner! It was fun to see him and how his training as a pilot is progressing!

Everyone got a geode for Christmas. Tyler helped everyone open theirs. Everyone got a great geode. Would buy again!
January brought a few more game nights than normal. We are really enjoying Catan. A VERY long game of Monopoly was played, but I stayed FAR away from that nonsense.

Tyler trimmed his beard and immediately knew he went too far! He's hoping it comes back QUICKLY!

January in Texas is a crazy thing. Most of the time it is down right pleasant. Wonderful for some good fishing!

Other times, we get our regularly scheduled snow storm that shuts everything down! Not very much snow, but it was very crystal-y and icey. In true Texas fashion, they cannot keep the power on for everyone at the same time. Lookin at you ERCOT. But we were only without power for a couple small spurts. There were a couple of walks, but no big snowmen this year.

Our cameras had some pretty great shots of the calm snow. The birds were very grateful that Tyler keeps up with the feeders.

Everyone is gearing up for Spring sports. At school when the kids to the PACER test, they mention how they did. Tyler and I always ask to see their pushups, are disappointed and try to fix it. Why can't our kids do pushups? It's hilarious and happens more frequently than you would imagine.
MOST importantly, Nolan was ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood and became a Deacon. He passed the sacrament for the first time and is the proud owner of his first Temple recommend. He is very excited for the new change and to join the Young Men's program. Tyler is also moving from Teachers to Deacons and will be with Nolan at all the fun things!

Because the boys are almost exactly two years apart, they move up at the same time. Grayson was ordained a teacher and will join his friends in that group this year! A friend in our ward reached out about her son Rafe and Grayson going to FSY together. We are a bit hesitant, it's the first time he's ever been away, but He's all signed up to attend FSY Denton the first week of June!

Until next time...
