October

Right after conference, LYlas lost her first tooth! Tyler tries to get her to promise to stop growing up! She always promises, but never stops growing up!

Our school had two days off for Colombus Day, so we took the opportunity to FINALLY visit Mitch and Emily's! We had a blast! We went to their new temple and left all the children to keep themselves alive! And they DID! Emily's sister stopped by for a minute, but all was well!

Mitch and Emily conveniently had 10, yes, TEN new Goldendoodle puppies that needed all the holds.

Every time we turned around there was a puppy party with enough puppies to go around more than once! They were just the right age, they were moving and cute but quickly fell asleep when you were holding them!

We played all the games(including the VR and darts), ate all the good foods and had all the fun. We even went to a suicide awareness walk.

On the way home we stopped at a random gas station and found a fun knife costume piece. Everyone had fun "trying" it on.

Nolan hasn't been Maverik of the week yet, but his teacher sent a really nice "Glow Note". He's working really hard with that really big brain of his. He got a 100% on TWO of his STAAR pretests! He's having a great year with PACE and some fun friends. One of his PACE projects was to make a pyramid. He wanted to use Minecraft and did a really nice job! He even added "booby-traps" to keep his sarcophagus safe.

The Priests did another service activity at the Big Cat Sanctuary. Tyler decided the kids could go because many younger kids went last time. This sanctuary is closed to the public, so you can only get at tour if you go and do service. They spent a couple hours clearing out brush and then they got to see all the big cats. It was also a Solar Eclipse. Another church member brought glasses and everyone got to watch the eclipse while working. There was even on jaguar that was stalking Lyla specifically. It was a good thing they have good fences!

Tyler keeps having to "take care" of medium sized wildlife at work. Only one time did his shoes smell a little bit skunky.

There was a little festival near us called, "Train and Grain". It was small, the parking was great, and the kids got tons of swag. We spent an hour walking around as the kids so more and more decked out in all the free things they could find. It was fun for everyone!

An opportunity to see Texas vs BYU popped up and everyone was invited. Only Nolan and Tyler chose to go. Nolan got to go to Bucc-ee's twice and had a great day with Tyler, Kenney and Colton. He got a foam hand. It was $15 so it had to make an appearance in almost every picture.

Grayson and Lyla stayed home to go to the 3 ward Trunk-or-Treat. They got so much stinking candy for 45 mins worth of walking around the church parking lot.

Tyler treated himself to a smoker. Now, every Sunday he cooks up something new! Everything has been a success so far! He enjoys it and makes a mess of the kitchen. But he always cleans it up!

We did our annual pumpkin carving contest. Grayson won this year with the most votes on FB and Instagram. He did about 95% of it by himself! It was win well earned!

I got a new niece in October, too! Two cousins born very close together! She was good luck, too! Helped the Rangers get a win in their journey to the World Series!

Halloween was short and sweet this year! Tyler went to work as Freddy, the Foreign Material Dinosaur. It was ridiculous and fun. All the kids picked inflatable costumes and they were so fun! It was hilarious to see them move around and try to get candy. We spent a couple hours at a friends house and their older daughter took the kids around three streets where they filled their buckets again! We ended the night with some food, lots of candy and watching the Rangers in the World Series!
Until next time...
