May 2023: End of School and Lyla's Birthday

The last week of school came in a flurry. There was so much to do! Our school does an awards day and every child gets an award. Let me tell you! These kids worked so hard to be good citizens and good students this year! Grayson was on A and B honor rolls. Nolan was on all A's honor roll. All 3 kids had grat achievements toward academic excellence. It's really important to Tyler and I that the kids all do their best in school. Thankfully they enjoy school so far!

Lyla got a watch from my mom for finishing kindergarten and Grayson was picked as Maverick of the Week for the second time this year! He's been dealing with some bullying this year. So far he's still being kind and learning when to speak up for himself. We're hoping 5th grade will be an opportunity to mix up some "personalities".

All the classes had end of year parties. I helped the most with Lyla's. We visited the boys and they came to finish the day in her classroom. Lots of fun was had with the photobooth.

We officially entered the kid age I think I love the most. These kids are AMAZING! Tyler and I are still their favorite people and they still love playing with each other. They are good and kind and fun. Sure, we have our bad days, but I'd like the kids to stay these ages forever.

Lyla's birthday was on the last day of school! She got to take cupcakes to her class and celebrate at home! We love our sweet and spicy Lyla Jean! She is the life of the party and will rival her daddy's sense of humor pretty soon. She has lots of friends and school and she knows how to have fun. She learned to read this year and she can swim without her water wings. This girl can and will do anything she sets her mind to! We've discovered she's probably a Slytherin, but we are helping her see the GOOD things she can do with "ambition, resourcefulness, determination and cleverness"! Happy 6th Lyla Jean!

She requested and rainbow cake this year and a rainbow cake we made! I even made the cake rainbow. That was a ton of work that I will not likely do again. The frosting and shape were fine, but small spoons of 7 different colors into the cake cups? No, thank you. The rest turned out great and she was happy with her rainbow!

Almost finished with May!
Until next time...
