The end of May brought the bittersweet ending of everyone's baseball season.
Grayson stepped of the bus after a 12 hr field trip to Austin and went straight to one of his last games. When all was said and done, his team finished 3rd in their age division. His teacher is so amazing and came to this last game. She is amazing and he really lucked out this year!
After the game you could "pie a coach" such a fun crazy way to end and awesome season of baseball! He had some amazing coaches and I'm tell you this kid worked his butt off. Just to do his best and be a little bit better than he was before! I loved watching him grow and play this season!
Lyla finished out her season as well. Her team also finished 3 in their age division. I mean there were only 3 teams, BUT! We still had a blast with this team of girls! Peep how much she loves her Texas Armadillo. Lyla learned a lot and we hope that she can play coach pitch next season.
We started to see a trend for good luck. Apparently if you turn your pockets out, you will have good luck during your game. I love how much they loved it and how quickly we saw EVERYONE with their pockets out at the baseball fields.
All season long, Nolan's team was SET on stressing the coaches and parents out each game. Some games were quick and easy. On other game days, they seemed like they didn't really want to play baseball. Eventually they would rally back and work to win the game, but only after stressing us all out. For the end of season tournament, all the games were thankfully played on Saturday so Nolan got to play every single game. The day before the tournament the first baseman for Nolan's team decided he couldn't play with his recent injury. The coaches decided to put Nolan on first base. Talk about stressful. We gave him some pointers and last minute practice at home. He played first base for 3 games and helped them win every single one of them! Between the two tournament days, Nolan's team played and won 5 straight games making them the Champions of their 8U age division. When the season was over, his team had played 19 games and won 18 of them. He learned so much because amazing coaches knew how to help and motivated him. It was such an amazing season, one we will never forget! He is a shy one and doesn't want to try new things and possibly fail. It has been so wonderful to watch him try new things and gain confidence, that he can do hard things!
We had one game where a professional photographer came and took some great photos of Nolan and his team. Here are some of my favorites:
