May Part I: Packing Up and Finishing School

If I thought March and April were busy, boy did May show up!

We started with Nolans 1st ever field trip! Lyla and I got to tag along, it was such a fun day. We learned a lot about Utah agriculture from FFA and we got to pet the cutest baby animals! Turns out all the 1st grade classes in the district were invited and we ran into cousin Sammy. I was VERY intrigued by the cow milking station. It was really interesting! We FROZE our butts off, but had a great day!

Grayson's class finished reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. They had a class party to watch the movie. MY TIME IS COME! I have wanted to make sorting hat cupcakes for the longest time. They are filled with frosting to match the 4 Hogwarts Houses. You are "sorted" by the color you bite into! It was so fun and I'm so grateful to our #1 favorite teacher, Mrs. Bailey, who let me bring them in, when she didn't have to. I am Hufflepuff, Tyler is Gryffindor, Grayson is Hufflepuff, Nolan is Gryffindor and PRETTY sure Lyla is Slytherin, but the jury is still out. At school, Grayson was sorted into Hufflepuff by the hat AND the cupcakes. Hufflepuff is life. We watched #1 as a family and can't wait to watch #2 on our road trip to Texas.

Both boys signed up for the annual school play, "When the Hippos Crashed the Dance". They stuck with it and we got to see them perform. Tyler came for a visit and the boys had quite the support group!

Because we moving, we are leaving behind the most wonderful teacher we will ever meet. Grayson had her twice, in 1st grade(covid year) and again in 3rd grade when she moved grades. To say her love changed Grayson's life and ours is an understatement. I pray at the end and beginning of each school year, that my kiddos get the teacher they need. I don't request and try not to heed any gossip about them. As long as I have trusted the Lord in this, my kids have been successful in their schools and with their teachers. So far. This teacher however, was a very special blessing, meant just for Grayson.

The weekend of the play rounded out with Mother's Day. I'm so lucky to call these people, my people. One Sunday, I looked over to figure out why I had no room to breathe, only to find these 3 silly faces trying to get as close to me as possible.

Before Tyler flew back to Texas for the last time. we took our last family picture in our Tremonton home.

Both boys got to do special "about me" projects. Nolan was Star Student and Grayson got to write a fun poem.

Grayson passed of all 3rd grade sight words and Nolan lost a tooth!

Over the course of three days, all our things were boxed, loaded on a big white truck and headed to Texas. It was crazy how fast they worked and how thorough they were with our things. I felt lazy just watching them work to pack up my house. It was beautiful, because my body could not have handled doing it alone.

Tyler was still busy fishing. The day our stuff headed to Texas, he got into our new home! He had a few projects to complete. He set up the internet and installed an above the range microwave!

Tyler finally had an empty neighbor seat on a flight!

Grayson also had a field trip. They went to Hogle Zoo. To say he was excited is an understatement. He talked and dreamed about it for weeks! I quickly learned that would be able to go because the moving company was coming that day. Thank goodness for Uncle Tom who was willing to meet them there and hang with Grayson at the zoo. I got plenty of pictures and Grayson even found a shark on the ground in the parking lot (If you know, you know)!

Next up, we start our goodbyes.
Until next time...
