Aug 2022: Our First Rangers Game

We had the fun opportunity to attend a home Rangers game! Tyler had gone to a few Rangers games as a child and has always been a team fan. The kids and I have repeatedly received LOTS of Texas Rangers swag throughout the years. It was fun to have mine and the kids first MLB game be one of Tyler's favorites. Boy did we have a blast! If you can get tickets, go! We didn't have great seats, but they weren't bad either. It was still so fun to watch the game, eat the food and follow along to the wave and other cheers. Lyla was really good at the call back clapping by the end of the night. We are considering one Rangers game a summer while we are here because it was so much fun!

We got to go with Kenney and Teresa. They live super close to the stadium. We picked them up and they showed us where to go and where to park! We were there in time for batting practice, so all the kids had their gloves. We didn't catch any stray balls, unfortunately.

It was Pudge Rodriguez Day at the stadium and we all got there in time to get a free bobble head! What a great reminder of a great day! We had a really excited photobomber. If the picture is JUST blurry enough, one might say he looks like Pudge. DID WE MEET PUDGE?! We will never know. Pudge Rodriguez was a player Tyler enjoyed watching play when he was growing up. It was a cool call back to his childhood.

We indulged in the ball park food. The portions were large and the prices were huge! Tyler did everything it could to get the kids to share a 3ft hot dog with him, but no dice. He took too long to decide what to eat that he ended up eating the meal of champions= all the kids' leftovers that he couldn't bear to see wasted because that slice of pizza was $11.50!!

Lyla enjoyed listening to the calls, chants and music. She was a pro by the end of the game. I loved looking over to see her yelling with all her might! We found GIANT bobble heads and a kids play area. The stadium in HUGE and we had fun exploring it!
If you are willing to explore with Nana and Papaw, there is a chance you will get a treat. Both boys got Bluebell ice cream in tiny little Rangers helmets. They also found a large Nolan Ryan wall. Of course, Nolan needed a picture with one of his two namesakes. Lyla did not want to explore and didn't get ice cream. However, Nana sacrificed her email so that she and Lyla could have matching backpacks. So cute!!

It is hard to comprehend just how large the stadium and field it. We had so much fun and can't wait for another game next summer!

Until next time...
