May: Part 2: Bear Lake

Corona did not take away our highly anticipated Bear Lake. We were even more excited because Tommy got to be there this year.
On Friday, we ate lunch in Logan Canyon and tried to protect our food from the ducks! Lyla would walk along the sidewalk chanting, "poop, poop, poop" as she tried to dodge all the duck poop.

We took obligatory lake pictures at the lookout above the lake.

As soon as we arrived, the children rushed to the hot tub. It is always a favorite!

For dinner that night we were treated to Tommy's favorite Fijian dish and a shrimp boil by Tyler's dad. I don't know how many men it takes to make a shrimp boil, but it looked like it took ALL of them at one point or another. Both dishes were delicious.

There was plenty of lounging and games to go around. The kids loved playing catch above the main room. It was cold, but we still had plenty of adventures. They lake was beautiful as always.

Saturday, we enjoyed outside! We went fishing and visited the free beach. It was too cold to justify paying for the beach. You walk down a boardwalk and the foliage was the coolest color! We were the only ones there and the kids loved using their rain boots to enjoy the cold water! We hunted for shells and found a WHOLE  beach of them. This may have been my favorite part of the trip.

The beach of shells looked like rock from a distance. When we got close we couldn't believe how many shells had gathered in one spot!

Fishing wasn't great this year. The only fish caught, was a half dead fish Tommy snatched out of the water. It looked REALLY cool on video.

On Saturday afternoon, we began a Swallow Family Olympics via Tommy's construction. It was a LOT of fun! We played a family quiz Kahoot, Spike Ball, Wiffle Ball and 31. Teams were randomly picked and it was hilarious. It was a GREAT way to connect as a family!

At one point, Grayson INSISTED that he wasn't tired. We soon noticed that he was very quiet and FAST asleep in the middle of the floor! He played hard and slept hard!

I played 31, got my FIRST ever 31 and proceeded to beat everyone and win the game!

Tyler was the overall winner, with Derek in 2nd and Kendra was the MVP. She earned points in ALL of the competitions and landed herself on the podium!

Tyler graciously shared his crown with the Birthday girl.

The kids were also given trophies and snacks for playing with Nana and letting all the adults be competitive.

On Sunday, we had family church and took pictures.

The big group photo turned out great! So sad to be missing all of Mitch's family. It would be perfect if they were in it!

The sisters wanted a recreate a sister picture from 7 years ago, but the boys did not like being excluded.

Much has changed since 2013!

After pictures we were rewarded with s'mores around a propane campfire(so nice without the smoke!)

On Monday, Lyla turned three. We cleaned up, packed up and headed for home to celebrate the little "Elsa".
Until next time....
