April 2020

While waiting for Tommy to get home, we stayed busy with random things. Puzzles, blocks and slime kept us entertained.

Grayson completed all his homework goals and his teacher sent him his favorite king-sized candy bar.

As we watched the first session of general conference, Tommy boarded his plane home.

We kept a close watch and slowly counted down the hours!

When he arrive in Salt Lake we headed to decorate the house and greet him from a distance.

We couldn't give hugs and it will be two more weeks before we can really spend time with him.

Since we could only visit for a short time and with a healthy distance, I made puppets of the whole family with spend the next two weeks with him.

While we waited for Easter and Tommy's 14 day quarantine to end we did lots of funny things. Nolan and Lyla are REALLY good at keeping things interesting.... Nolan also grew a love of Nutella....

Grayson's school work introduced us to kid friendly drawing tutorials. It is so fun to watch them and see the impressive outcome!

Lyla is full of SOMETHING and her daddy likes to get it on camera.

Easter around here is FULL of traditions now. We started by getting egged! Someone left eggs in our yard. One is always empty to remind us that Jesus was resurrected! We egged two neighbors in return. We decorated our own eggs and got some presents from Nana before she went into quarantine.

Easter morning is an exciting time. This year we had Easter church at home. I made everyone get ALL done up to get my required Easter Family picture.

We make resurrections rolls every year. They are fun, meaningful and taste great! Jesus is represented by the marshmallow, wrapped in the tomb. They rolls cook and the tomb is empty because Jesus is resurrected!

Each of the kids of a kite in their Easter basket and we spent one warm day flying them.

Having bikes means that something usually needs to be fixed. The kids LOVE to help Tyler fix things.

Quarantine and warm weather led to MANY yard projects. We started the garden after Tyler cleaned it out. We cleaned our rock pit. Tyler got an edger and found extra pieces of sidewalk. He also cleaned around the edges of our trees. It was a lot of work, but very satisfying. Now, if anyone knows how to get weeds out of grass... I'm open to suggestions.

I love the next picture. Lyla is so dramatic and is good at playing dead. Nolan is less scared of Papaw's goat and wanted to show off his bravery. At school lunch, the kids got chips that they know are Tyler's favorite. They all decided to save some to share with daddy later.

4 jets from Hill Air Force Base did a fly over and we got to see the fly by. It was soo loud! Aunt Lillie sent all the kids a cute coloring and sticker surprise to keep them busy during the long days.

Finally, Tommy's 14 day quarantine ended! We spent the day doing farm stuff and having fun. The kids were SO excited to finally get to hug Uncle Tommy.

There were also presents! The boys got turtle necklaces with real sea creatures inside (dead, of course). Lyla got some cute jewelry. Tyler and I recently read the Micheal Vey series and were excited to receive a cannibal fork and map flag of Fiji.

Tyler taught the family to play Viking Chess. Tommy came and played with the hammock and trampoline that he didn't believe we owned.

April had lots of good feels, but we are getting a little bored with social distancing. I miss the library and I really REALLY miss The DI. Fingers crossed that they come back in May.
