January 2017

January brought with it a BUTT-LOAD of snow! Now people, I am from Rexburg, Idaho; The frigid wasteland of Southeast Idaho. I grew up knowing what a butt-load of snow is! And this year, little Tremonton, Utah, got a BUTT-LOAD of snow. We "lovingly" refer to it a Snowpocalipse 2017. It just started snowing and never stopped! There is so much snow. We are the only one in the family with 4-wheel drive and Tyler spent a good amount of time helping his family get unstuck!  We are very grateful for the 4-wheel drive and our neighbor shoveling elves the kept us out of the worst of it while Tyler was at work!

However, we had to get the snow off of the roof because there was so much! That resulted in a sidewalk with snow too heavy to move! We paid for help this time, because parts of the drive were so overcome with snow! Even the 4 wheeler got stuck! It has been quite the snow storm!

Next, we stopped getting mail and Tyler became King of the Mountain!

We got two snow days for the first time in 15 years in our community!
January chugged on! We did a project to add more space to our closet! I got a wonderful chair for when the new baby comes and the boys will not stay out of it! They really enjoy spinning each other in it!

We took the boys to Chili's to celebrate a late birthday dinner for Tyler. They did well until the end, so we pulled out the iPad. They loved the lasagna that Gramma left and ate it all up!

At the end of January we had our 20 week ultrasound! It is always my favorite part! I love to watch the baby and see all it's parts and pieces. The the tech was immediately worried about the placenta having a blood pocket around it. The good news was that baby was fine! Measuring ahead and VERY healthy. The bad news is that we need to have another ultrasound, hope for no bleeding, and that that pocket gets better not worse! We are anxiously awaiting the next appointment to be sure that all is ok! We also learned that we are expecting a baby girl! It's the first baby girl in my family in 15 years! Needless to say my family is very very excited! For the Swallow side this is baby girl #3 out of 8 grandchildren! We think she is pretty special! We are still working out names, but she will have some VERY special names handed down to her!

Until next time...
