Memorial Day Weekend with Some Odds and Ends

At first Memorial Day weekend was going to get a bust for us. Everyone we knew was going camping and as much as I LOVE camping, being 31 weeks pregnant made the idea a little more than daunting. At the last minute Tyler's family changed plans because we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the 1st Swallow grandbaby . due at ANY time. Instead of camping, we made a day visit to Salt Lake. First we went to a swap meet where Tyler's dad found baby Texas hats ( for those that don't know, Swallows are Texan's through and through!)! We scored this little beauty and baby Grayson will have a hat to match his daddy!

Next, we made a stop at the new City Creek Mall in downtown Salt Lake. It was pretty cool for my small town Idaho eyes! It actually has a creek running through it! With fish!! It also comes with some really neat sky-walk bridges and retractable roofs for crummy weather; which we ran into! And there's a baby belly pic!

On a side note we found a restaurant called, Jason's Deli (google it!) and they offer gluten free bread for their sandwiches. I got this little beauty:

and BOY WAS IT GOOD! Talk about a pregnant girl in heaven. We also found a gluten free bakery that makes gourmet cupcakes. Sorry, but the Red Velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting didn't even make it long enough for a picture. YUM! On Monday we had a BBQ and campfire at the Swallow house to finish off a great weekend! Just been gettin' my food on here in Utah, that's all! :)

Anyhooo.... On to the odds and ends.
Tyler's been busy with baseball practice, here's a few gems that show how much fun he is having:

Now, to end I have a funny story. We recently got a 10 gallon fish tank from Mitch when he upgraded to a larger one. We put 4 gold fish inside. Only 2 survived to flourish.

Well the tank got dirty and Tyler cleaned it. He cleaned it with soap and apparently didn't rinse it out quite enough.... we woke up the next morning to another dead fish and this lining the top of the water:
We didn't have high hopes for our last goldfish. We re-cleaned the tank and hoped for the best. We also bought a sucker-fish and 2 crabs in hopes that we would have to clean the tank less ourselves (for the safety of fish kind). It's been 5 days since "the cleaning" and our fish is still alive!! I call our crabs ninja crabs because they can climb up the filter and tubes by jumping off the plants and ship and "flying" to their destination! It blows my mind and creeps me out because they remind me a bit of spiders, but they haven't got out yet so they are still on my good side! Here's one ninja crab in all his known glory....

Sorry this post is a little long, we just have so much going one! My baby shower is Saturday and baby Lynnlee will be here by then so I need to keep up! Another post next week! Promise! Our summer is DEFINITELY starting to pick up! Also, if you want to see our epic escapade with the Solar Eclipse check out this page..... http://ktswallow.blogspot.com/2012/05/solar-eclipse.html there's a belly pic.... :)
Until next time....

It's Summer Time!!

Summer for us is just beginning! We are getting busy and things are happening! First of all Tyler is MUCH more busy than I am. We are extremely blessed and he just got a raise! The Lord is definitely looking out for us; we couldn't be more grateful. He is still in school, we (mostly me) feel it's very important to keep chugging away at school to get Tyler finished. He's currently taking 6 credits and pluggin' away like a champ! Baseball season has started and Tyler is coaching Tommy's(his little brother) little league team with his dad this summer. Already it's been very very fun! Tyler is also in the Young Men's Presidency and goes to mutual every Tuesday. I think we are really starting to enjoy Tremonton. It seems to be growing on us.
What about me you ask? I'm busy growing a baby! We are 30 wks as of Monday the 21st! 10 weeks left! Give or take! I would like to take, but our little man needs to come out healthy so I will suffer! I was worried about summer coming and surviving the summer heat, but I am beginning to remember all I LOVE about summer and trying to enjoy it! When I have the energy, I nest like crazy! Here are a few examples....

We have been SOO blessed when it comes to clothes! First I found a REALLY good deal on KSL and we got clothes from Newborn to 2T! Then Tyler's Aunt Marina gave us a lot of her baby clothes she no longer needed! My mom also saved a LOT of things that we went through and got our little man ALL outfitted for his first yr! They are all washed and folded or packed for later!
Our nursery is slowly making a metamorphosis from clutter to organized and ready.

We are excited for our little man to get here! Here's to hoping for a fun and easy summer!
Until next time.....

Road Trip and Doctor's Appointment!

Sadly, it's been 5 weeks since I wrote, but not much has happened in our lives! Tyler works and does school all the time and well, I just try to stay awake all day!
Tyler's cousin got married this weekend in St. George so we took a Road trip! Is it really considered a road trip? No, I just hate long drives and anything over 2 hrs is a road trip to me! Since I am gluten free, I have to pack a LOT of food!

So we stayed in Cedar City Friday night....

Yes, I have to sleep with 5 pillows just to survive!

Saturday morning we went to the St. George Temple! It's a beautiful temple and we were graced with 70 degree weather! I wanted to stay there forever! It was wonderful!

Last, but not least we had our 20 week ultrasound today! It was so wonderful to sit and watch our baby for a half hour and inspect everything about it! The tech was nice and informative! She knew we really wanted to know gender, but when we didn't answer fast she made us wait the WHOLE scan! All the while calling it a she, he and baby! She was really good at throwing us off the trail! It was a very fun appointment! Towards the end she showed us the pictures we couldn't have been more happy to see!
 Beautiful little feet and toes,
Sweet little profile,

and IT'S a BOY!! We couldn't be more excited! There is NO mistake!!
and we told the Tech about our last Facebook announcement so she clarified for all that it's NOT A NUBBIN'! Just for Tyler!

We also got our first baby item! It's very fitting! Tyler picked it out ALL by himself! We also had an opportunity to tour our hospitals Labor and Delivery unit. It is SO nice!We are less than 2 miles away, thank goodness! It's three years old, so BRAND NEW! And I was really impressed with how they run the place! Made me excited for my stay there!! And they never have a lot of babies because we are such a small town! I think it will be a great experience! We are so extremely blessed and can't wait for our little one to arrive! I have finally started to feel his jabs and kicks! We love him soo much already!! He measured a little bigger so we are due around July 27th! Yay for an earlier  due day! We can get this boy our faster! We are still arguing, I mean conversing on names! Feel free to suggest! But it's nice to call him, him! Can't wait to meet our little man!

This week hasn't been much but the same 'ol, same 'ol. Tyler works everyday, comes home and does home work and then we just hang. We have really gotten in to Grey's Anatomy, but Tyler won't have the guts to tell you he's stuck on the drama! Anyways, Tyler went to Logan on Saturday and took Tommy with him. I wasn't feeling well and was SUPER bummed I couldn't go. My husband came home with a few things.
He got a new TV stand and put it together:

He did a WONDERFUL job! It looks much better! It also makes the TV look bigger which is FINE with Tyler!
I was bummed I couldn't go so Tyler surprised me with:
A new PURPLE orchid! Isn't it pretty?

A new body pillow. Pregnancy ruins sleep and hopefully this will help!
And this delicious little friend from Arctic Circle. It's vanilla ice cream, with caramel, caramel filled candies and whipped cream. Um.. best thing I've eaten all week! I'm finishing it right now as I type. My husband just asked if I really was sharing a shake on our blog. I said yes, because CHANGED MY LIFE!! :)
Not much baby news this week. I'm starting to feel more livable (I think, knock on wood) and can function better by myself. We are getting our second room cleaned out so I can begin to craigslist some things for the baby room. I'm excited for the summer because yard-sale-ing for baby stuff is GONNA BE BOMB! I'm stocked! Our next appointment is Feb. 6. I'll be close to 16 weeks so the doctor will do a gender check! Hopefully it's not too early, but it probably is! So maybe maybe!
Until next time.....

Let's Play Catch-Up!

It's been a while. A month almost. Not so good for that weekly blog post dream I had, but I have my reasons. I've been working on this.....

And well that nasty little sickness caught up with me. This is what it looked like:
Not pretty I know..... It's called my morning sickness corner. Note the garbage can I need to more fully utilize. Yes, that's Wendy's; love my frosty and fries! Kleenex's for my ever stuffy nose. Who knew?!? and the Ipad and Percy Jackson to pass the time! When I'm not watching Netflix! And some days the floor is more comfortable than the chair! Who'd a thunk?
I am almost 13 weeks. Due July 31! Might change a bit, but we are excited! We've had two appointments and all is going great! Next appt. in Feb we might get to know the sex!! Love, support and prayers have been needed and a blessing!
Tyler started a diet for a family competition and I can eat a little more so our latest shopping trip looked like this:
You can see all of Tyler's healthy food. What you don't see are the Hershey bars, snickers ice cream, gluten free Oreos and pudding I "needed". Needless to say I am NOT in the competition.
A few weeks ago, Tyler learned a hard lesson in asking your sick pregnant wife to do something she can't really do without the need to puke. This is what happened:
I was in a hurry(for need to puke) and he failed to give me the razor guard(which I failed to notice!). This wasn't on purpose! Totally an accident!! Needless to say, this happened. Whoops! So we had to cut it ALL of. He was almost bald and a few weeks later he's fine.
No blood no foul right?!
We are SEVERELY blessed by the Lord and couldn't be more thankful! I am definitely looking to speed through the next few weeks and start to feel livable again! Tyler started school again and really ready to be done! We are doing all online right now so he can get an associates from BYUI and get a bachelors from Utah State. Needless to say the classes are difficult, but he is trudging through! We are giving talks in church tomorrow and look forward to becoming a useful part of the ward!
Until next time....
