June 2025: Family Vacation: Port Aransas

We left San Antonio and made out way to Corpus Christi. We crossed the bridge and ate lunch with a view! Straight after lunch we drove the beach on the way to our Airbnb. We hade some pretty great views of the ocean from our back door. We enjoyed sitting out and eating while we watched the waves. Our first night we took our family pictures. It was our best decision of the week. We beat the crowds and no one was sunburned yet!

Every morning and every afternoon was spent at the beach. We were able to drive on the beach and have the car steps away from my beach chair. It was magical. The kids took to the ocean quickly. They loved the boogie board and Nolan started to figure out the skim board. They all became master hermit crab catchers and seashell finders. 5/5 stars.

Nolan was brave enough to try the skim board. My foot was sacrificed in this endeavor, but he was fairly successful in learning something new

At the last minute we decided to give the Texas State Aquarium a try. We LOVED the dolphin show and sea turtles. Other than that I've been to better aquariums. However, it's location was amazing! From the Dolphin enclosure, you could see the bay. We were able to watch a few HUGE shipping barges come through. The aquarium had an observation deck where you could see the bay and USS Lexington. Next time we go we will tour the Lexington. It seems 2 days is Lyla's max partying limit. A few of our hours at the aquarium were a STRUGGLE. She perked up and we continued to have a great day!

Their shark enclosure was actually pretty cool was well. We got some cool shots of the sharks approaching the kids.

Too soon it was time to go home. We made a pit stop at the site of our new temple. It will be done next year and we are excited! This is the first time we have been able to see it in person. It is going to be about and hour away from us.

We got home just in time to clean for our next adventure, Lyla's baptism!
Until next time...
