In August, we recover from July, get ready for school and just survive. It's a lot of big changes all at once. A few youth in our ward organized their very own trip to the Temple. They asked Tyler if he would drive them. He had a wonderful day with a really great group of kids that want to do good things!
The first day of school arrived and we were as ready as we could be! The kids were ready, but I REALLY dislike having to set my alarm for 6am. The pictures below are a year apart. They have all had TONS of growth. This year, the kids are a two different schools. Lyla is downstairs in 2nd grade and Nolan is upstairs in 4th grade. Grayson is on his this year in the middle school. He has 8 classes each day. I'm very worried about the adjustment. I'm sure he will be fine, he always rises and adjusts like a champ. I'm excited to see what the year has in store of each of these awesome kids!We found a baby bird in the front yard. It clearly fell out of the nest in our big tree. It was an adventure. I fun adventure for some, a stressful one for others(me). It was discussed to keep the bird, but it was clear we did not have the ability to really take care of it. Tyler finally rigged up the most redneck ladder and Nolan was brave enough to return the baby. It never fell out again and we did see the mom come back and keep caring for it.
Sometimes, I'm still shocked that the issues we still deal with at church. I slowly compiled the most random pile of things. Grayson waited and waited and waited and FINALLY got his French Horn. It is such a different instrument! We quickly learned that we needed help. A nice kid in our ward gave some very helpful pointers and we are on our way to learning to play the French Horn!
Until next time...
