In 2024, Grayson turns 12. When Tyler turned 12 his dad took him on a just them special trip. Tyler wanted to keep the tradition. Grayson was given a few "suggestions" and chose to go to Houston.
They first came upon the San Jacinto monument. They paid to get inside, went all the way to the top and really enjoyed their time there!
After arriving in Houston, they went to the NASA Space Center. We at home were shocked from the pictures of how big the rockets truly are!
Grayson did not understand the significance of this room in EVERY space movie ever! Tyler also said the actual real life office is one level below this fake one.
It is cheaper for the jet on the bottom to FLY both rockets on top of it than to move it around any other way! This blew my mind!
Grayson loves putt-putt and Tyler made sure to find a fun one. They also found an arcade place that had large screen VR games that were very funny to watch Grayson try and compelte!
Lillie, Colton and their family, hosted the Galveston Island beach day. They went to the beach where Grayson found a wild Hermit Crab. Shout out to Colton's jacket. The REAL MVP. My understanding is that this jacket has saved others from a cold Galveston day.
This was Grayson's first time seeing the ocean. It was cold, but I think he still made a formative memory!
Colton showed them around the UT med school campus. There is a cool lab there with all sorts of medical exhibits. I thought Grayson would love this. He did not enjoy looking that the things in jars and the really bones freaked him out. Who'da thought?
They took Grayson and Tyler on the free ferry, which was a highlight for Grayson.
On the way home, they actually stopped at the Sam Houston statue. It's huge!
This was an awesome trip and Nolan can't wait until he turns 12!
Until next time...
